Who We Are
The mission of the Harvard Chan Chinese Student Health Club is to facilitate communication and collaboration between Harvard Chan students and Chinese healthcare leaders from academia, industry, and research institutes. We hope to promote a learning and cooperative space between U.S academia and Chinese public health practitioners and healthcare professionals to power transitions from academic research efforts into actionable solutions in the context of healthcare in China.

Xinyu(Crystal) Ma
President
Crystal received Masters of Science in Epidemiology from Harvard and bachelor of science in Biology from UCLA, and is part of the founding team of HCHC and served as vice president at year 2020-2021.
She currently works as a Strategy Consultant in the Life Sciences Practice at CRA, where she primarily focus on pricing and access strategy for pharmaceutical assets at all lifecycle stages. She also focuses on commercialization strategy, including brand planning, primary market research (across various stakeholders), competitive situation workshop, and go to market strategy. She's interested in nutrition, microbiome, AI, and digital therapeutics.
Haopeng Yang is a Ph.D. candidate in Health Policy and Management at Peking Union Medical College, with a master's degree in Public Administration (Hospital Management) from Tsinghua University. He joined HCHC in 2020 and served as the Chair of the Academia Department from 2021 to 2023. In 2024, he became the Co-president of HCHC.
His research focuses primarily on the organizational management of geriatric medical centers, healthy aging, women's health, and artificial intelligence. Currently, he works as a management trainee at the National Center of Gerontology, Beijing Hospital, where he focuses on healthcare management consulting, medical and nursing quality management, among other responsibilities.
Haopeng Yang
Vice President
Yu(Yuki) Dai
Academia & Innovation Chair
Yu (Yuki) Dai is a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard Unversity Program in Neuroscience, with a master's degree in Neuroscience from Brandeis University. She joined HCHC in 2020 and served as one of the co-Chairs of Academia Department at year 2020-2021.
Yuki currently works in Dr. Lauren Orefice's laboratory at Massachuessets General Hospital, investigating the effects of chronic social isolation on animals' responses to touch as well as the underlying biological changes. With interests in mental health and neuroscience, Yuki has been actively involved in research projects and entrepreneur efforts in the related fields.
Ruijun(Jeanne) Li
Academia & Innovation Chair
Jeanne Li holds a Master’s degree from Cornell University, focusing on Smart Cities and Healthcare Technologies. She joined HCHC in 2020, served as Chair of Branding and External Affairs from 2021 to 2023, and became Co-President starting in 2024.
She currently leads the development of AI and XR-driven healthcare solutions at Unity Technologies, focusing on telemedicine, digital therapeutics, neurorehabilitation, geriatric care, preoperative simulation, and virtual reality-enhanced treatments. Her prior experience at NASA, where she developed deep learning models for environmental monitoring and health risk prediction, further solidified her expertise in applying AI to the healthcare sector.
Our History
As a new organization that was founded in 2019, we have seen a rapid expansion and growth. From 3 Harvard students who had a common vision to an official organization that has over 50 members today and more than 700,000 audience, we will never stop progressing.
