Who We Are

The mission of the Harvard Chinese Healthcare Club is to facilitate communication and collaboration between Harvard Chan students and Chinese healthcare leaders from academia, industry, and research institutes. We hope to promote a learning and cooperative space between U.S academia and Chinese public health practitioners and healthcare professionals to power transitions from academic research efforts into actionable solutions in the context of healthcare in China.

Advisory Board Member

 

Fangli Geng

Fangli Geng, Advisory board member, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services, Policy & Practice at the Brown University School of Public Health. She holds a Ph.D. in Health Policy and a secondary degree in Data Science from Harvard University. Her research focuses on health policy issues related to aging in the U.S. and China, emphasizing patient-centered, high-value, and equitable care models for the elderly and their families.

Kristy Sheng

Kristy Sheng is currently a Senior Staff Data Scientist at Cerebral, where she leads product analytics and strategy for growth and marketing in the tele-mental health space. She holds a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s in Public Health from UC Berkeley. Kristy’s previous experience includes roles at Meta and Analysis Group, where she specialized in health economics and outcomes research, market access strategy, and product analytics.

Crystal Ma

Crystal received Masters of Science in Epidemiology from Harvard and bachelor of science in Biology from UCLA, and is part of the founding team of HCHC and served as vice president at year 2020-2021.

She currently works as a Strategy Consultant in the Life Sciences Practice at CRA, where she primarily focus on pricing and access strategy for pharmaceutical assets at all lifecycle stages. She also focuses on commercialization strategy, including brand planning, primary market research (across various stakeholders), competitive situation workshop, and go to market strategy. She's interested in nutrition, microbiome, AI, and digital therapeutics.

Yuki Dai

Yu (Yuki) Dai is a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard Unversity Program in Neuroscience, with a master's degree in Neuroscience from Brandeis University. She joined HCHC in 2020 and served as one of the co-Chairs of Academia Department at year 2020-2021.

Yuki currently works in Dr. Lauren Orefice's laboratory at Massachuessets General Hospital, investigating the effects of chronic social isolation on animals' responses to touch as well as the underlying biological changes. With interests in mental health and neuroscience, Yuki has been actively involved in research projects and entrepreneur efforts in the related fields.

Xinchen Duan

Dygo Duan, the co-founder of Halo-hill Tech Inc, serves as the company's director and Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the company's listing, investment and financing, mergers and acquisitions, as well as strategic development. The company's products have covered 15% of retail terminals in China, providing health services to over 80 million customers. Previously, he worked as a hedge fund analyst at China-rock Capital management, responsible for transaction strategies in the fields of healthcare, commercial space, and hard technology. He holds a Master of Medical Sciences from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Medicine from Zhejiang University. Between 2020 and 2022, he served as a member of the HCHC Presidium.

Jeanne Li

Jeanne Li holds a Master’s degree from Cornell University, focusing on Smart Cities and Healthcare Technologies. She joined HCHC in 2020, served as Chair of Branding and External Affairs from 2021 to 2023, and became Co-President starting in 2024.

She currently leads the development of AI and XR-driven healthcare solutions at Unity Technologies, focusing on telemedicine, digital therapeutics, neurorehabilitation, geriatric care, preoperative simulation, and virtual reality-enhanced treatments. Her prior experience at NASA, where she developed deep learning models for environmental monitoring and health risk prediction, further solidified her expertise in applying AI to the healthcare sector.

Haopeng Yang

Haopeng Yang is a Ph.D. candidate in Health Policy and Management at Peking Union Medical College, with a master's degree in Public Administration (Hospital Management) from Tsinghua University. He joined HCHC in 2020 and served as the Chair of the Academia Department from 2021 to 2023. In 2024, he became the Co-president of HCHC.

His research focuses primarily on the organizational management of geriatric medical centers, healthy aging, women's health, and artificial intelligence. Currently, he works as a management trainee at the National Center of Gerontology, Beijing Hospital, where he focuses on healthcare management consulting, medical and nursing quality management, among other responsibilities.

Jeanne Li


Co-president

Haopeng Yang
Co-president

Haopeng Yang is a Ph.D. candidate in Health Policy and Management at Peking Union Medical College, with a master's degree in Public Administration (Hospital Management) from Tsinghua University. He joined HCHC in 2020 and served as the Chair of the Academia Department from 2021 to 2023. In 2024, he became the Co-president of HCHC.

Yepeng Huang


Vice President - Industry & Career

Yepeng is currently a PhD student at Harvard researching in AI modeling of perturbations. He is interested in enhancing early prediction of therapeutic clinical performance and improve medical accessibility through AI tools.

Kehuan Lin


Vice President - Academia & Innovation

PhD Candidate in Population Health Sciences Epidemiology at Harvard University. Her research interests include the relationship between diet and other lifestyle factors and cancer risk, the interaction between genes and lifestyle, and multi-omics analysis.

Zili Huang


Vice President - Academia & Innovation

Zili Huang is a PhD student in Population Health Sciences in the Global Health and Population Department at Harvard University. Her research revolve around the innovation of healthcare delivery model, management and behavior of healthcare organizations, and national-level health reforms.

Kailin Xu


Vice President - VC & Startup

Kailin graduated from Harvard School of Public Health with a master's degree in epidemiology of aging. She currently works at HMS Hebrew Senior Life, specializing in clinical quantification and intervention of frailty. She is responsible for multiple clinical trial projects and has experience in digital health venture capital, early medical technology startups, and aging technology startup projects and work experience.

Ying Tang


Vice President - Branding & External

Ying Tang, Branding & External Affairs Vice President, graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Health, specializing in Nutrition Science. She currently works at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Research areas include early childhood obesity and cancer prevention, gut microbiota and human health, bone regeneration medicine, etc.

Yunan Zhao


Director - Branding & External

Hi, this is Yunan. I am currently a DrPH student in Biostatistics at Columbia University and also working at NYU Langone Health. I graduated with a MS degree in Biostatistics from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. My research focuses on calculation for medication adherence, healthcare delivery through electronic health records (EHR), and unhealthy weight control behaviors.

Mengdi Chai

Mengdi focuses on computational biology and aims to develop in biostatistics and data science in healthcare. Dedicated to contributing to the cure of currently incurable human diseases, Mengdi looks forward to exploring job trends in the U.S. and China. 

Roger Han

Roger focuses on the medical device and service industry. He aims to develop healthcare services and solutions for specific groups, committed to solving healthcare-related problems and benefiting society. 

Richard Huang

Richard is an MR Partnership Manager at Siemens Healthineers, focusing on medical devices (imaging and surgical robots). Aspiring to make significant contributions in strategy and business development within the medical device industry, Richard is committed to accelerating innovation commercialization and inspiring more young talents entering the field.

Susie Jiang

Susie is a first-year student at Harvard Business School. She aims to pursue healthcare consulting or pharmaceutical leadership rotation programs, aspiring to become a business leader in the life science industry. She looks forward to meeting friends in the Industry Department, finding her focus, exploring U.S.-China healthcare synergy, and making a long-lasting impact.

Jeffery Li

Jeffery transitioned from healthcare consulting to become a game designer. Interested in health-related tertiary industries, he is dedicated to exploring non-standard, high-quality medical service models to make serious medical services or health management more engaging.

Yulv Lin

Yulv focuses on healthcare management and health economics, and aspires to engage in biopharma, biotech, and AI. She is committed to deeply understanding the medical field, tracking the latest industry trends, and benefiting more patients.

Joy Qin

Joy is a first-year MPH student in Health Management at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Formerly with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) China Team, she has worked on various in-house and professional service strategies related to the healthcare system (providers, payers, patients). She aims to leverage her understanding of the market and business networks to help experts and talents in the healthcare field bring technologies and academic insights from labs and institutions into relevant markets or targeted communities, enhancing healthcare system efficiency and truly benefiting patients.

Pengwei Sui

Pengwei is a Research Associate at Harvard Medical School focusing on autonomous agent systems for drug discovery. He aims to gain a deeper understanding of AI in drug discovery (AIDD) and the future AI-plus-biopharma industry, exploring development trends and application scenarios.

Wenya Tian

Wenya is a data analyst at a biotech company in Savannah focusing on discovering and developing new medicines for heart conditions, aiming to enhance healthcare delivery through data-driven insights and innovative solutions.

Andy Wang

Andy graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on global health. With extensive experience in medical strategy consulting, early-stage incubation, and NGOs, Andy has served over eight nonprofit organizations.

Zining Wang

Zining is studying Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University, aiming to develop professional insights and deep understanding in the medical field, with future interests in healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical epidemiology, and vaccine policy.

Irene Wei

Irene works in investment banking focusing on healthcare and biotech M&A. She is dedicated to deeply understanding the differences and business opportunities in the pharmaceutical sectors between China and the U.S., especially opportunities in China's domestic biopharmaceutical and industrial innovation. She aspires to engage in pre-A start-ups focusing on biotech screening or biotech venture capital.

Heather Yang

Heather works in biostatistics at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. She aims to uncover the valuable insights and applications behind medical big data, deepen her understanding of healthcare industry trends in China and the U.S., and build her own industry expertise. Her future interests include healthcare data science, big data and AI, and healthcare venture capital.

Zhiqing Zhang

Zhiqing is a postdoctoral researcher in vaccine immunogen design at Harvard, aiming to promote the development of the life science sector through research, benefiting more patients.Looking ahead, Zhiqing aspires to engage in life science venture capital or the biopharma/biotech industry.

Vivian Zheng

Vivian holds an MSc in Biostatistics from Harvard University and works in Data Science in Healthcare at Novo Nordisk. She hopes to lead her own team in the industry to solve more problems using data science, with interests in causal inference and privacy-preserving machine learning.

Xingyu Guo

Master of Hospital Management at Tsinghua University. My research focus is on implementation science, specifically identifying the facilitating and hindering factors in the clinical application and implementation processes of new medical technologies, particularly AI. Previously, I worked for healthcare companies such as Roche and GE Healthcare.

Ning Huang

PhD student at the School of Public Health, Peking University, and a visiting scholar at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. My research focuses on children's and adolescents' mental health, specifically on traumatic experiences such as school bullying, child maltreatment, and the development of digital interventions.

Kexin Qu

Kexin holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Brown University and currently work at Novartis, where I specialize in the statistical design and data analysis of clinical trials. With extensive experience and a deep interest in digital healthcare, I am passionate about leveraging data-driven insights to advance the field of medicine.

Tonic Song

Currently an undergraduate student in Biomedical Engineering at Beihang University, focusing on the association between parvalbumin interneurons and emotions and memory.

Wang Xing

Xing is currently the final-year medical student (intern in hospital) in Sun Yat-sen university. He was a visiting researcher in St. Louis Children’s hospital/ Washington University School of Medicine. His research interest is mainly about uncovering the function of histone epigenetic modification in breast cancer tumorigenesis. He is now working in Guangzhou National lab as a part-time research scientist in anti-infection structural biology group.

Shira Wu

Graduated with a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and currently working as a research scholar focusing on health systems. Passionate about exploring the world, with a love for travel and food.

Jenny Zhao

I am a lecturer at Donghua University and hold a PhD in digital healthcare from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I have received comprehensive design education in the United States, the United Kingdom, and China, which has equipped me with six years of research experience in digital healthcare. I have published multiple papers in SCI, SSCI, and CCF conferences, and I have led and participated in several government research projects, as well as collaborated on various industry initiatives.

Yiming has worked in the healthcare provider industry for nearly 10 years. He is interested in cancer related technologies, service models, and management experiences. 

Shuduo Fang

Graduated from the Tsinghua-MIT Global MBA Program, currently serving in the Intelligent Surgery Division of Naton Medical Group, primarily responsible for strategic investment, business development, and M&A. In his tenure at Naton, has been involved in the investment of 5 domestic and international med tech startups and participated in the incubation of a joint venture with a German med-tech company. Prior to entering the healthcare industry, had work experience in investment banking and internet companies, previously serving at JP Morgan and the Strategic Investment Department of ByteDance.

Alexis Gu

A health industry entrepreneur (involved in raw materials and software services), also providing consulting services to startups and investment institutions.

Hua Wei

Hua Wei, Master of Science in Engineering in Innovative Design and Technology at the University of Hong Kong. Research interests focus on ageing-friendly service design, inclusive design, wearable product development, etc.  And has experience in startup teams and is currently developing wearable products for the elderly in a Hong Kong startup.

Whitney Peng

Whitney is an MPH Nutrition candidate at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. With experience in venture building and investment, she strives to work for innovations that put nutrition and sustainability at the core of business strategy while building long-term shareholder relationships. Whitney operates across institutional and startup environments, demonstrating skills in project management, business development, research analysis, product development, and marketing communication.

Tristan Wang

Graduated with a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and currently working as a research scholar focusing on health systems. Passionate about exploring the world, with a love for travel and food.

Tereasa Wei

She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nutritional Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, focusing on clinical nutrition and eating disorders. In addition, she serves as the Director of Career Development at the Harvard Venture Club, where she founded the Mentorship Program, creating a platform for early-career professionals to connect with industry experts. She has extensive experience working with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), as well as in healthcare management consulting and social impact startups.

Yueyang Zhang

Yueyang Zhang is pursuing a degree in clinical translational epidemiology at Harvard University, with degrees in medicine, applied mathematics, and finance. His research focuses on early cancer detection, biomarker monitoring, metabolomics and genomics, clinical translation of cancer and cardiovascular diseases, and the application of artificial intelligence in medicine. He is also a national-level tennis player and tennis coach etc.

Xiaohang Zhou

Pursuing a dual master's degree in Public Health and International Relations at Johns Hopkins University. Her research focuses on the impact of digital health tools in strengthening primary health care systems and improving health equity in low- and middle-income countries.

Christine Chen

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Pharmacoepidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Research experience includes integrating NLP algorithms with EHR to study opioid use disorder. Received a Bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University with a major in Biological Sciences and minors in Data Science and Business. Interned at several biopharmaceutical companies, gaining practical experience in the commercialization and marketing of innovative biotechnology products.

Scarlett Li

A data-driven marketing scholar with a background in Canadian arts and design, focus on healthcare topics such as geriatric diseases, digital health, and telemedicine, as well as public health in exercise and nutrition. Dedicated to integrating creativity, data, and medical technology to enhance patient experiences and promote public health awareness.

Xiaoran Li

Employed by AstraZeneca Retail, mainly responsible for the promotion of breast cancer products in the out-of-hospital channels. Deeply engaged in commercial promotion of pharmaceutical channels, and having rich experience in DTP, market access and business fields. Graduated from the Global Health major of King's College London.

Rebecca Wang

Graduated with a master's degree in Public Health Nutrition from New York University and completed the Didactic Program in Dietetics, currently on the path to becoming a Registered Dietitian in the USA. Gained experience across the health industry, including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies, and health insurance firms. Additionally, served as a Nutrition Educator at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, designing and delivering over 300 hours of community nutrition education workshops.

Sudy Xiao

I graduated from Nanjing University. I am a designer with warmth, empathy and humanistic care, and I focus on the health industry. I have worked on the improvement of the management and appointment system for young female periodontitis patients, as well as the content creation and application of medical popular science social media. I embrace AIGC to empower the design of the future.

Lyn Xie

With a focus on nutrition and food security, I co-founded the "Chengshi Qiaoliang" food bank in 2022, donating over 2,500 kilograms of fruit to date. Currently interning at the National Development and Reform Commission, I have also served as a volunteer researcher for UNESCO and interned with other international organizations.

Sophia Zhang

Undergraduate student of preventive Medicine, Shenzhen University. His research focuses on chronic disease epidemiology, focusing on the association between metabolites and disease risk prediction.

As a new organization that was founded in 2019, we have seen a rapid expansion and growth. From 3 Harvard students who had a common vision to an official organization that has over 50 members today and more than 700,000 audience, we will never stop progressing.
